Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk for a temporary onsite role in Northridge, CA. This position will support day-to-day payroll operations with a strong emphasis on garnishment processing, payroll system accuracy, and data integrity. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Paylocity, solid Excel skills, and at least 6 months of garnishments experience in a corporate payroll environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with processing payroll accurately and on schedule
• Manage and process employee garnishments, including setup, calculations, ongoing administration, and compliance (6+ months experience required)
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including deductions, pay changes, and employment status updates
• Audit payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll submission
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and garnishment regulations
• Utilize Paylocity for payroll processing, reporting, and employee data maintenance
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with reconciliations as needed
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and garnishments
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate payroll processing

Qualifications

• Prior payroll experience in a corporate environment
• At least 6 months of hands-on garnishments experience (required)
• Experience using Paylocity for payroll processing
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (data entry, formulas, reports)
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting payroll for multi-state employees
• Familiarity with timekeeping systems integrated with Paylocity
• Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-volume payroll environment
